A performer of singular wit and style, Jody Trehy brings an unconventional and dramatic voice to the singer-songwriter scene, blending a dynamic mix of musical and theatrical styles in tune with poetic lyrics, infectious, soulful melodies and socially engaging subject matter.

His current project is a full-scale musical; an adaptation of an old, anti-war film entitled: The Boy With Green Hair with permission from RKO Stage, New York. After extensive workshopping at the Gate Theatre and the Cork School of Music over the last three years, the show is scheduled for a concert performance at the Civic Theatre, Tallaght, June 6, 2026, before going into full production.

On record, Jody has produced two well-received albums: Promise and Involuntary Noises. He also writes for theatre and was nominated for the Dublin Fringe Sexiest Show Award for How I Failed To Become A Popstar, The Musical. In 2009, he was commissioned by Riverdance producers to write songs for the Irish hit comedy: Macbecks, (Olympia Theatre and Cork Opera House). He has also written and directed a darkly comical musical satire of the pop/celebrity scene: Eejit Of Love, (Pavilion Theatre, Samuel Beckett Centre, 2008, also produced and broadcast by RTE Radio Drama in 2012 and 2013, and running to considerable critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe, 2015.

Jody returned from the Edinburgh and Brighton Fringe Festivals 2015-2016 with an array of rave reviews and was shortlisted for the Brighton Fringe Award for Excellence for his show Involuntary Noises, the songs of Jody Trehy, featuring an international six-piece band. His next album: Red Vienna, has been written and is scheduled for production in autumn 2026.

Jody is also an accomplished sound designer and director of One Louder Sound LTD, leading specialists in audio design for musical theatre.
