JK34DRUMS

My name is James kelly aka ‘JK34DRUMS’. I am a self-employed musician based in the Leinster region of Ireland. From a young age, I have shown myself to be a hard-working go getter. Starting to play drums at age 11, I swiftly moved to the business side of things, beginning to run and play shows in my hometown of Mullingar at age 12. Continuing successfully until age 16 when my priorities shifted to school and obtaining a place in my desired college course. At age 17 I moved to Dublin to complete a HND in music business. After successfully graduating, I enrolled in BIMM Dublin in 2015 and completed a 4-year bachelor's degree specialising in Drums and music teaching. Since then, I have been teaching and performing constantly and in 2022 registered my own business to operate under - ‘JK34DRUMS’. I have played in many successful bands completing several releases and touring both Ireland and the UK. In conjunction with this I have also organized and ran several hundred gigs in the Dublin area throughout these years.

Currently, I am the Music Co-Ordinator and Project Lead for youth music program ‘Music Mondays’ in Crosscare youth centre in Griffeen, Dublin. Funded by the Arts Council, NYCI, UCAN, and the IYMAS. Alongside this; I run a private practice of >20 weekly students, teaching Drums, Guitar, Keyboard, Bass and Leaving cert music both in person and online. I perform and write with an original band - ‘Noqturn’, of which I am a founding member. I am also the Drum Coordinator for ‘PYRODRUMATIX’ drum troupe and ‘Pyro collective’ spectacle performance group.

Outside of music, I have Professional level skills in Graphic Design, Video production, Sound design and Audio production.
