Ian Wild has been a theatre composer in the UK and Ireland since 1990. He has had work produced and performed by innumerable theatre companies. Interplay (Leeds), Prescap Community Arts, Janus Theatre Company, Craic na Coillte, Dowtcha Puppet Theatre Co amongst many others. He wrote the soundtrack for an Everyman Palace production of The Elephant Man, and for the Cork Opera House Shakespeare programme, most notably, King Lear, Othello and Hamlet. He has wrote the musical Marco Polo's Toilet Brush which was performed at Cork Opera House and Cork Midsummer Festival. This toured the South West of Ireland. Tow other musicals which featured in Cork Midsummer festivals and toured extensively, were The Pirates in Short Pants and Spaghetti Western. He wrote the soundtrack for his own play, the phenomenally successful Mrs Shakespeare which won the Brighton Festival Argus Award and sold out in the Edinburgh Festival for three weeks.
