Here Comes The Landed Gentry

Rock // Derry, Derry

Having formed in the Autumn of 2007 by brothers Rion and Gavin
McCartney, long time family friend David Doherty and local werewolf
John Keaveney – HCTLG have grown in strength from day one.

Having played some great gigs things took a real leap forwards
following the induction of members Marty Doherty on vocals in Feb ’08
and Philip ‘Wally’ Wallace on drums the following month due to the
departure of Gavin (Who still remains an integral part of the bands
songwriting process). This shift meant a change in sound, attitude and
style!

After securing high profile gigs with Black Rebel Motorcycle
Club, The Mighty Stef, Fighting With Wire and The Urban Voodoo Machine, the band hit the
recording studio with Mik O’Connell. Recording a live demonstration
using vintage analogue equipment this resulted in a 7 track E.P. HCTLG
go on to play show stopping sets at the prestigious Glasgowbury and
Feile Folk festivals. If this isn’t enough HCTLG went on to win the
best overall act at this years Roaring Meg Busking Festival.

Armed to the teeth with a Van, a batch of new equipment and 1,000 000 bottles of heineken HCTLG book a shit load of gigs across the length and breadth of the country and take to the road wooing audiences ,
peers and alternative radio DJs resulting in live sessions with the
seminal Radio1 introducing, Across The Line and Electric Mainline BBC radio shows.

2009 sees big things for the band as they move from being a support band to a top notch headline act. Having proved themselves as a great live band this reflects on the bands songwriting resulting in the writing and recording of thier second batch of musical nuggets. HCTLG plan to release these songs by free digital download from june to december.

Blending different musical genres such as blues, rockabilly,
classic rock, alt country and punk among many others, all HCTLG want to
do is write and record great songs and play great shows! So on that
note we will leave you with a quote from punk icon Joey Ramone - “today
your love, tomorrow the world.”
