George Gardener

George Gardener is the moniker of Laois-born atmospheric songwriter and producer George Mercer, making hushed, textural and sometimes jagged indie.

Once immersed in the world of electronics and indie hooks with former project My Tribe Your Tribe, George traded upbeat technicolour for a softer, more intimate sound palette, carving out space for a new, immediate and personalised songcraft focused on vulnerability, loss and liminality.

Inherent in George Gardener’s songwriting is a thread of candidness, where the fourth wall is knocked down and universal themes are expressed through domestic imagery, quiet truths and familiar states of mind.
