Garrett Anthony Rice

Hailing from Greystones, County Wicklow via Dublin, Garrett Anthony Rice blends various influences as diverse as Richard Ashcroft, The Smiths, Neil Young and David Bowie to produce highly emotive and compelling lyrics and music.
Rice wrote, arranged and played on almost all of the instruments on his debut album in October 2023 then as an alias i CONSULT which has 130k streams to date. That album caught the interest of Chris Potter producer (The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Richard Ashcroft) and a double album of 18 songs entitled “EQUINOX” is due for release in late 2025. The first single “My Sons” which Rice wrote for the mother of Noel and Liam of OASIS when they were estranged is now live on all platforms.

The following single “ PROPERTY (an ode to Roger Syd Barrett, a genius, 1946-infinity)” released on 25 April which Rice wrote for Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd has received global praise and has been played internationally on radio (including RTE 2 XM) Irelands national broadcaster.

With his last single “Eden” which Rice wrote for/about Richard Ashcroft released on 20 June 2025, this song is a southern delta blues rap song, swirling consistently with atmospherics, slide guitar and gospel choir elements and is receiving high praise from numerous critics and media outlets.

His fourth single “In The Sun” is a cross between Link Wray, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age and the Beach Boys. A heady cocktail of influences coming together to form a modern day rock classic. The song is available on all platforms this Friday 18 July.

High level production industry professionals are already predicting Rice’s upcoming double album of 18 songs “EQUINOX” will win awards.
