Frozen Petals

Indie // Cork, Cork

Two songwriters, one synthesiser, multiple melodies.
Beautiful original folk tunes with haunting synth accompaniments.

Simon MacHale and Annette Buckley have joined forces to create a revolving super group comprised of varying Cork musicians. Simon and Annette take the helm as two well respected artists in their own rights, with established solo careers, several tours and solo albums behind their names.
Combining their love of Renaissance music with the modern day sounds of electronic music, Frozen Petals have created a brand new sound using catchy pop hooks designed to stick in your mind indefinitely. This new project focuses a combination of their impeccable musical skills and well composed songs

In 2016 MacHale and Buckley, founded The Electronic Folk - a collective to connect musicians with similar artistic visions, and to provide a performance space for original songwriters who are on the cusp between genres, and looking for a platform. In its first year, the collective ran a monthly night, upstairs in The Long Valley Bar, showcasing a host of local Cork acts. As of May 2018 , its new home is a monthly Thursday night in The Roundy
