Foinse

Soul // Dublin

Foinse (pronounced fwin-sha, meaning “source” in Irish) are a six-piece retro soul band from County Dublin, creating energetic, groove-driven music rooted in classic Motown warmth with a modern indie-soul edge. Their sound is built on funky basslines, jazzy guitar chords, playful saxophone solos, rich vocal harmonies and emotionally catchy lyrics that invite listeners to move and feel at the same time.

Formed in 2021 as a two-piece concept, Foinse has grown into a tight six-piece outfit over the past two years, developing a sound that thrives on connection, spontaneity and joy. While their recorded music captures their soulful groove, it is on stage where the band truly comes alive.

Foinse are known for their high-energy, interactive live shows that feel more like a shared jam session than a traditional performance. Grounded and fully present with their audience, they create a space where people are encouraged to let loose, dance, and become part of the moment. Their playful onstage chemistry and genuine love of performing together set them apart as a band who don’t take themselves too seriously — but take the music very seriously.

The band have performed across many of Dublin’s key venues including Workman’s Club, Whelan’s, The Grand Social, Sin É, The Sound House and The Racket Space, and sold out their debut single launch show at Bello Bar in 2024. Their appearance at Workman’s Next Big Thing Festival earned praise from Hot Press, who wrote that the group “stole the night, finding a modern sound within 60’s inspired funk.”

In 2024, Foinse released their debut single, now approaching 10,000 Spotify streams, and are currently releasing new music in the lead-up to their debut EP, scheduled for summer 2026. With a growing reputation for electric live performances and a community built around joy, groove and connection, Foinse continue to establish themselves as one of Dublin’s most exciting emerging soul acts.
