Finscéalta

Folk // Cork // he/him

Hailing from Cork, Ireland, Finscéalta emerges as a compelling storyteller, drawing inspiration from the likes of Passenger, Bon Iver, & Damien Rice. Taking his name from the Irish word for folklore, Finscéalta assumes dual roles as both a director and a singer-songwriter, weaving cinematic narratives into his work.

In 2023, Finscéalta released his first single 'Therapy', noted for its 'poetic lyricism' and 'stunning moments' by Far Out Magazine. He quickly followed this up with the accompanying music video and his short film 'Mid-Youth Crisis', a grounded coming-of-age story, which was nominated for The New Voices award at Cinecity Film Festival, Brighton.

Beyond his individual endeavors, Finscéalta co-hosts the music industry podcast 'How To Break an Artist' with Alfie-Hudson Taylor. Series One was recognized as one of the standout Irish podcasts of 2023 by the Irish Examiner. The podcast offers a candid look into the inner workings of the music industry, serving as a valuable resource for both established and emerging artists.

Finscéalta has spent the beginning of the year at Wavefield Recording Studios in West Cork. Series Two of the podcast continues to release weekly. In addition to his podcast, Finscéalta remains active in the music scene, frequently gigging in Cork. His upcoming performance at "The Never Fade Sessions" in London in April marks the beginning of his journey in the UK.
