EUGENE STUART

Singer-songwriter // Angouleme, Dublin

EUGENE STUART has been performing for many tears and in many countries. Currently living in Angouleme (France), Eugene Stuart is from Dublin and wrote his first song aged 7 years old and won his first award at the age of 15. Eugene, an indie singer songwriter, has been writing songs for many years and has received several further song-writing awards since then. His first collection of original songs (No Borders to our Hearts) was released last year. This is mostly an album of love songs and Irish style ballads. It also included two songs in French: Allant Nulpart and Angouleme Chez Moi (an anthem for his current city of residence). A further track (White Nights) took third place at the Cork International Folk Festival in 2019 when Eugene and his wife represented France at that prestigious music event.

The new album (2026), of 11 original songs - “WITH STORIES TO TELL”, again includes several collaborations with other composers. And this time, the songs are primarily “story songs” including reflections on elections and covering matters as diverse as teenage pregnancy, homelessness, life in the military, smoking bans and internet dating. “WITH STORIES TO TELL” is now available on all main streaming platforms.
His major project right now is the completion of a rock musical opera, with Irish songwriter Frank O’Dea, on the life of the Irish political leader Charles Stewart Parnell (PARNELL – The Irish Musical). Eugene says that “this is emerging like an Irish Les Miserables and covers an important period in Irish history in the 19th century; which almost led to Irish independence. However, this was stopped by British political intrigues and church reaction to his infamous love affair with the wife of a political colleague”. He expects the concept album to be released in Spring 2027 and the show to go to trials later that year.
