Emilie Conway

Jazz // Dublin 6W, Dublin

Emilie Conway is an award winning vocal jazz artist who performs in Ireland and internationally. Her practice is multi-disciplinary with music to the fore. Inspiration for her music comes from three main areas of exploration: Jazz & art/literature, jazz & children, jazz & disability. In performance, Emilie weaves together original compositions, spoken word, and both improvised and structured musical passages.

This multifaceted approach has garnered international recognition, notably including acknowledgement from the United Nations for her contributions to International Jazz Day, highlighting the global impact of her unique artistic vision. New York’s global centre for culture, The 92nd Street Y, also commissioned her to deliver a series of lectures, The Musical Art of Piet Mondrian.

In Walked Piet: Upcoming Album Launch
The National Gallery commissioned Emilie to respond to the work of pioneering modern artist, Piet Mondrian in 2020. Lockdowns facilitated extended research which you can listen to in two podcasts produced by the National Gallery, but prevented the development and sharing of the musical work. Emilie launched the first single from the upcoming album, In Walked Piet, in October 2025. Now, finally, Emilie is delighted to launch the full musical work inspired by the life and work of Piet Mondrian with Walked Piet, on June 19 with Johnny Taylor, piano and Barry Donohue, double bass at the United Arts Club.
