David Lydon

Acoustic // Galway, Galway // He/him

David Lydon an Irish songwriter and musician from the west of Ireland. His work is defined by emotionally direct, vulnerable songwriting and a distinctive vocal style, blending acoustic, alternative, and atmospheric textures.

He first emerged in the late 1990s Galway music scene, receiving early support from Uaneen Fitzsimons, the much loved presenter of Alt music show, "No Disco." After a period of development, he released his debut album *Hello Ugly Hello Friend* in 2008, followed by singles around 2012.

In recent years, David has been quietly rebuilding and deepening his creative practice. He continues to write and record new material, regularly performing at open mic nights and small gigs around Galway. He is currently completing a postgraduate thesis exploring music, emotion, and aesthetic experience—work that is actively feeding into his songwriting.

He is now focused on releasing previously unreleased recordings and completing a body of new work for his second album. He lives in Galway.
