Dan Bettridge

Folk // Douglas, Cork // he/him/his

Balancing melancholy with warmth and unexpected humour, Welsh-Irish singer-songwriter Dan Bettridge is building an audience drawn to his honest songwriting and unique, genre-bending, folk sound. Rooted in genuine life stories, organic textures and quiet emotional weight, his songs feel like private conversations - honest, brooding and gently disarming. Rather than chasing grand statements, Dan sits with the feelings people rarely articulate, offering connection where isolation often lives.

Renowned for immersive and intimate live performances, Dan blends raw vulnerability with warmth and wit, transforming each show into a moment of collective understanding. Audiences don’t just watch, they’re drawn into a space where sadness can coexist with laughter, and silence feels as powerful as sound. It’s this emotional openness that makes his performances truly one-of-a-kind.

With over 4.5 million streams and placements on more than 45,000 playlists to date, Dan’s career has seen him invited to perform at SXSW multiple times, appear extensively across the BBC Radio network, and record live sessions at Maida Vale Studios for BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 2. Personally selected by Bob Harris as his favourite new artist, he performed at Maida Vale alongside Jacob Collier and Freya Ridings, later joining Dermot O’Leary live on BBC Radio 2. He has shared stages with Band of Horses at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, featured in Rolling Stone alongside Darius Rucker and Rosanne Cash, and been named Acoustic Magazine’s “Next Big Thing.”

Working from his studio in wild West Wales, Dan continues to build a body of work in the form of his upcoming sophomore album, self-produced. Guided by one simple mission - to make people feel understood, and remind them they are not alone - his music doesn’t demand attention; it earns it, quietly, and stays with you long after you’ve left the show.
