Cranky Face

Galway, County Galway

If there is such a thing as a Galway ‘4 piece Supergroup’, Cranky Face just might be it, being made up of guitarist Stephan Curran, Vocalist/guitarist Simon Noble, drummer Mosey Byrne and Bassist Hob Junker. The four talents joined forces in the Summer of 2015. Their debut EP ‘We should hate’ was released in November 2015. It gained rave reviews throughout Ireland, drawing comparisons to Nirvana, the Pixies, Supergrass and The Raconteurs. Cranky Face toured around Ireland throughout 2016 playing celebrated sets at The Roisin Dubh, Whelans and The Body and Soul festival. Hob Junker departed the band in September 2016 and was replaced by My Fellow Sponges’ bass player, Sam Wright. The band went back into the studio in October and recorded the Bowdown EP. This EP was released in November 2016 to great critical acclaim. 2017 is set to be another busy year with upcoming appearances at the Vantastival, Townland’s Carnival, Body & Soul, Swell and Electric picnic Festivals, and a new release slated for Autumn 2017.
