Cormac Ó Driscoll is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music blends experimental folk, electronic textures and contemporary influences. Raised within the tradition of Irish music and later drawn toward the possibilities of synthesis and sound design, he crafts a sound world where organic instrumentation and modern technologies meet.
His work draws influence from the likes of Arthur Russell, Björk, Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Broadcast, Steve Reich and Poor Creature, as well as broader inspirations including Joni Mitchell, Big Thief and Sufjan Stevens. The result is a sound that leans into atmosphere, intimacy and experiment — exploring the edges of folk and what lies on the other side. Lyrically, he writes at the intersection of queerness, rural identity, folklore, and technology.
Before starting to perform solo in 2024, he spent time involved in various band projects and briefly fronted his own, as Ragair. He has since supported the artists Steven Van Betten, Tim Freedman and Brown Horse. With upcoming releases that highlight his evolving sonic exploration, he continues to develop work that is both rooted and forward-looking, inviting listeners into a world where tradition and imagination converge.
