I am Conor Cunningham. I am a songwriter, session musician, multi-instrumentalist, producer, arranger and musical director.
I have been active in the Irish, European and American music scenes for over 10 years.
Having worked with over one hundred artists globally as a recording and touring musician, what I have learned has informed my own music to an immeasurable degree. As a touring bass, keys and saxophone player with David Keenan (A Beginner's Guide to Bravery) I learned how to build a thrilling live show for audiences of over 10,000. Having spent many hours in the company of traditional harpist Alannah Thornburgh recording her debut album (Shapeshifter) I learned the importance of writing and creating with a sense of home, and while organising and curating festivals, concerts and workshops in Ireland and America (Body & Soul, Feile Parkfield, I developed a love for the interconnection of musicians across as many genres as possible.
Currently I work from a home studio in Donegal as a remote recording artist, traditional Irish instrumentalist, and touring musician for established and emerging acts such as The Ocelots, Lemoncello, Joshua Burnside, Tricia Collins, Muckno, among many others, while working on own my debut album 'Cairdeas'.
Cairdeas focuses on experimentation and expression across genre, representation of Irish culture, and as the title suggests, friendship.
