Conn Thornton

Alternative // Belfast, Antrim // they/them

Conn Thornton's self-described brand of 'ethereal folk with teeth' lies on the border of immersive surrealism and a very real melancholy. Their second EP, 'When Bethesda Lands They'll Throw Us a Parade', garnered immediate attention and praise from the likes of Hot Press, IMRO and BBC Radio Ulster.

Conn's musical style merges composition and sound design with muses on growing up in a Northern Ireland recovering from the Troubles, queerness, art as escape and literature to create unique sound worlds. They have previously performed support slots for acts such as Problem Patterns, Gender Chores, Daudi Matsiko and Courting. They won the Emerging Talent showcase at Output Belfast 2025.

"The music is emotive, complex, and a testament to Thornton's talents as a composer" - Eleanor Gilmore, Dig With It
