CHEESE SHOP is an Alternative Rock and Psychedelia artist/musician.
Born in 2007, she grew up above a pub where music was playing every night.
At just 11 years old, she began writing songs with the piano. Her ideas only got bigger from there.
Now she's a gigging singer-songwriter who produces and mixes everything in a little studio she has built in her room at home. Over the past three years, she has become fully self-taught as a multi-instrumentalist and producer (layering as many instruments as possible to create the fullest sound she can get for her songs) and now plays piano, guitar, drums, bass, ukulele, flute and vocals — with the intention of expanding her musical language even further.
Everything she works with is is software/AI-free: she plays all the instruments (including found sounds), mixes and produces everything on her computer and creates the videos for the songs on her YouTube Channel, shaping an authentic and organic sound world of her own.
Inspired by a range of 1990s artists, like the melancholic sound of The Smashing Pumpkins, she creates immersive and evocative music that transports listeners into another world.
Sometimes drawing from the atmosphere of her favourite films, she enjoys choosing scenes without dialogue to allow her music to take control and tell the story of the characters.
About to go to music college, CHEESE SHOP aspires to make things happen for herself as soon as possible, spending most of her time playing guitar and writing on scraps of paper to share her next song and introduce the world to a new sound.
