Charlie O'Brien

Charlie O’Brien is an Irish folk musician from a traditional background, pushing out from that shore into muddy waters where sound and vision meet. He writes songs both personal and social. He has released five albums under "Trouble or Fortune Records/Films," alongside three music-inspired films. Rolling Stone praised him for harmonizing “music and documentary filmmaking with a deep connection to his roots.” His compositions often draw inspiration from historical events, literature, and overlooked cultural histories. Recently, he has been researching Irish-Argentine ballads in Argentina, culminating in the album and film of the same name "The Trackless Wild."
