Catherine F. Simpson ( Catrin Ni Shim ) AKA Cat Fury

Catrin Ni Shim (Singer/Guitarist) - Belfast born Cat Fury, is a singer-songwriter, musician and band leader who became an active member of Toronto’s Independent Alternative Rock music scene from 1983-2001. Press highlighted showcases at NXNE and Canadian Music Week attracted major label interest. She recorded a demo with her band Dez Monas in the early 90's at Metalworks studio for BMG Music with international producer John Punter (Pink Floyd) at the helm. She went on to tour Barbados and played in notable bands in Toronto's underground rock scene, with various radio and television appearances. She returned to Ireland in 2001, became a DJ for Garden County Radio with her show the "Twang Time Radio Hour" and released a self-produced solo record with husband, Kurt Schefter (Alannah Myles guitarist) and drummer Sean Kilbride (INXS), playing venues in Wicklow and Dublin with Cat Fury & The Thunderbirds and Huegrass. She continues to write, record and produce melodic, hook-laden, riff- heavy tunes from her home studio in Kilcoole and creates accompanying music videos. She formed her current project, power trio, Baba Yaga in June 2025.
