When you blend a Donegal Gaeltacht upbringing with a bohemian spirit and the raw vocal honesty of the earliest torch-singers, you get the unique and contemporary sound of singer/songwriter, Carol Wilson.

Carol’s critically acclaimed debut single, ‘Trouble Me’, garnered airplay from Donegal to Luxembourg following its release in April of 2021. Since then, she has released seven singles, a live EP (Live at The Balor, 2023) and an album (Trouble Me, 2021)- about which the late musician Ted Ponsonby had to say: ‘Very impressive songs, vocals, music and performances -clever arrangements and full of emotion both musically and lyrically’.

Carol was recently announced overall 3rd place winner in Music Capital’s First International Singer-Songwriter Competition 2023 at Sandinos in Derry. She has played The Ghostlight Sessions at The Balor 2023, Art in the Park – Falcarragh 2022 & 2023, The Big Tent, Malin (Henry Girls Residency / Errigal Arts Festival), 2022, Ards Friary (WAW – Nollaig na mBan) 2023, Rathmullan Film Festival 2023, ceremony and event openings and is a regular at Mouthpiece and Clubeo. Carol wrote the film score for ‘Woodlands in Fanad’ 2022, featured vocals on ‘Heaven Can Wait’ 2022, is a member of The Wild Atlantic Women (WAW) and has been invited to write a song for Belfast People’s Kitchen Christmas Album 2024.

In June 2023 Carol co-founded the popular new music nights ‘Frida Fridays’ along with fellow singer-songwriter Sinead Gallagher at An Stad, Rathmullan where they regularly perfom. Carol has been interviewed and performed live on Highland Radio – Monday Night Sessions with Paul & Jimmy June 2022 & 2023 – Highland Roadshow with Greg Hughes August 2022, Relay for Life (with WAW) June 2023, The Nine ’til Noon Show with Greg Hughes July 2023 and Ruaille Buaille le Colm Ferriter September 2023 and Radio na Gaeltachta 2024. Her music has been played on Highland Radio, Shannonside FM, DonegalBay Fm, Bangor FM, Dundalk FM and Over The West Online Radio, UK’s Northern Quarter Radio and RTE Radio na Gaeltachta.
