Cadmium

Dublin-based band Cadmium is the musical project of singer/songwriter Carmel-Deirdre Humphreys (Cd). She has been writing her own songs since 2021 and is currently studying music at Trinity College.

Her style draws influence from many genres, including folk and indie-rock; some artist influences include Lisa Hannigan, Elliott Smith, Declan McKenna, The Mountain Goats, and Black Country, New Road.

Cd has released 2 songs, 'Already Gone' (2022) and 'Unlucky' (2024), the latter being the first single out of the band's upcoming debut album 'Meet Me At The Observatory On The Top Of The Hill'.

As of 2024, Cadmium have been playing gigs around Dublin to enthusiastic attendees, most recently playing in Whelan's. The band is characterised by its use of both alto and barritone saxophone, as well as banjo, keyboard, bass, drums, and Cd's main instrument, guitar.
