Briar City

Briar City is the solo project of Irish songwriter and musician Sean Francis, making alternative pop built on pop-punk foundations, complemented by polished production and a little hyperpop for good measure.

Francis spent five years as songwriter and founding member of pop-punk band Crown The King, earning international press coverage, radio play and features on official Spotify and Apple Music editorial playlists, with particular praise for his honest and biting approach to lyricism.

The debut single 'Armageddon' is released on 25 August 2026. It is about the wreckage of a public relationship defined by betrayal, inflated egos and competing versions of the truth, a break-up anthem for the social media age.

The single was produced by Irish duo We The Villains (Stephen Youster and Mark Hogan) who co-wrote and produced The High Kings' "The Irish Roar".

'Armageddon' is the first of a run of releases planned across 2026 and 2027.
