Description

Brian Walton and his band (originally known as the Fusion Family) would describe themselves as an Irish act but the nationalities of the band are hugely diverse. Front man Walton is of Irish and Saudi Arabian descent. Drummer, Reo Odirile, hails from Ohio, USA and is of African American (Botswana) nationality. And lead guitarist, Alex Skinner, is from Ireland. Walton is a member of the musical family The Walton's who have been instrumental in promoting Irish and World Music over the past 100 years in Ireland and across the water. Odirile has played with a number of top American artists including R Kelly and the Marz Volta before his move to Ireland. The youngest member of the band Skinner (20) is currently a student in The Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM), of which he was placed into the advanced second year when commencing his course showing how sheer his guitar skills are.

Walton has recently returned in the last few months from his first venture to L.A. where he paid a trip to ex Black Grape member and producer Danny Saber (The Rolling Stones / U2 / David Bowie / Willie Nelson / Public Enemy). Walton was put in touch with Saber through a mutual friend and after Saber had a listen to his music he immediately invited him out to his studio in California. Walton and the band were delighted when Danny Saber selected their track 'Hate' to appear on his new record 'Saber Bytes 2' which was released in the USA in March 2013.

Saber was not the only one to take notice of Walton, he has also been hailed by music supervisor and producer of the new Jimi Hendrix movie ‘All Is By My Side’, Danny Bramson (Almost Famous / Austin Powers / Mission Impossible 3 / Vanilla Sky). Bramson took note of Walton after seeing him at the rap party of the Jimi Hendrix movie in 37 Dawson Street, Dublin where Walton performed in front of Andre 3000 from Outkast who plays Jimi Hendrix and the rest of the cast and crew. Bramson invited Walton and his band to stay with him and his family for the first week of their stay in L.A.

While in L.A. the band recorded their new album entitled 'Dreams Like These'. The new album is very close to being completed so hang tight folks! The boys made the most of their time in L.A. by making two music videos in addition to recording the album. One of the videos was shoot on Venice Beach where Walton met with a number of the top industry heads such as Larry Little (original manager to The Killers) over a hectic three weeks!

The future for Brian Walton looks bright and busy, he has recently contributed music on a new project Kevin Godley (U2 / The Police / Duran Duran / Blur) is fronting called Whole World Band. The new single ‘Love Makes You Crazy’ is one that will stick in your head and one you’ll find yourself swaying from side to side to. ‘Love Makes You Crazy’ is out Friday 27th September, they will perform at Tramyard Cafe in Dalkey on Saturday 28th September to celebrate the release.
