Billy Kennedy is a singer songwriter from Cork City. His music career began in the 1990s in London as singer with rock band 'Godot'. He moved back to his native Cork where he formed the band 'Horsies'. The band had their song 'Being There' nestle in the top twenty and feature on many TV shows including No Disco.
Billy released a solo album 'This Old Life' to critical acclaim. This was followed by numerous singles including Sea Creatures which featured on RTE Recommends and most recently in January 2026, Puxley's Mine. This song was inspired by the once thriving community of West Cork.
Billy has recorded and produced many artistsat his own studio and regulary plays live dates of his own songs as well as playing guitar for other acts.
He and his wife ran the popular music venue Harbour Lights from their home from 2023 to 2025, They hosted over 60 artists from Ireland and abroad, often catching touring artists for a date.
Billy now lives in West Cork where he writes and produces music.
