BERKO

Pop // SAGGART, Dublin

Introducing BERKO with his debut solo single, Getaway……..
Formerly the frontman of Stillroom, one of Dublins well established touring bands he's now carving out his own sound blending soulful vocals with big, modern production.
Getaway is a cinematic, atmospheric track about escapism and letting go driven by pulsing rhythms, textured guitars, and a powerful, anthemic chorus that builds as the track unfolds. The single is co written with David Duggan of Future Fears, featuring long time collaborator Dehna Bennett on guitar and seasoned session player Phil Maher on bass. It's produced by Ray Traynor, known for his work with The Script, Aslan, and OneRepublic.

The project has received support and coverage from Hot Press, IMRO, PURE M Zine, Radio Click Digital and Eiretainment, among others, helping GETAWAY reach audiences well beyond its initial Irish release.

Radio support has also taken the project internationally, with GETAWAY and GETAWAY REMIX receiving airplay on both sides of the Atlantic and around the world, including Ireland, the UK, USA, Australia, Brazil, Argentina and mainland Europe.

Support has included Amazing Radio UK & USA, NEAR FM, Dublin South FM, Clare FM, Radio-TV ARTHIS in Belgium and Auxois FM in France, alongside further international radio support. GETAWAY and GETAWAY REMIX have also been listened to by BBC Introducing teams, including Radio 1 Introducing Rock.

The project has expanded beyond the music itself with the release of the cinematic GETAWAY music video/short film, shot on location in Dublin. The film has been submitted for consideration to a number of international film and music-video festivals, including the Cannes Film Awards, Europe Music Video Awards, Cyprus Music Video Festival and LA Film & Documentary Award.

GETAWAY was written by James Berkeley and David Duggan and produced by Ray Traynor, whose credits include work with The Script, Aslan and OneRepublic.

BERKO releases his debut album “Welcome to the Aftershow”, in Spring 2027.
