Ben Murphy

Folk // Clondalkin, Dublin

In the last few years I have been mostly playing in the folk / trad / ballad scene. Recently I have started to write my own music and songs, a number of musical ideas have been buzzing around my head for years and I thought I may as well write some stuff even if only to clear my head. Everybody knows about the state the world is in due to greed, so there is no shortage of ideas for songs.

My influences in music are varied; The Chieftains to the Dubliners / John Martyn / Christy Moore / Planxty are a huge influence on me, Rory Gallagher / Beatles, The Stones / Gary Moore / Jethro Tull / Fairport Convention with Sandy Denny, as you can see mostly old stuff

I have uploaded 3 new tracks, Blame, a song about random violence.Carnival, which is a metaphor for our country ruined by Banksters and Politicians. The Silent ones,a song how PC policies effect our everyday lives, have a listen,ta Ben Murphy.
