Becca James

Acoustic // London, Antrim // She/her

Becca James is a London-based alt-pop artist and songwriter from the North of England. Her music blends ethereal electronics with soul-leaning vocals, exploring themes of healing, identity, and transformation. After early Spotify editorial support for her debut EP Trust the Season (2023), and a Netflix sync on Celeste Barber's Netflix series Wellmania, James released her debut album God in Chains (Vol. 1) on 20 November 2025.

Mixed in Dolby Atmos, the album unfolds as a cinematic journey of rebirth, released in sync with lunar phases and paired with goddess-inspired visuals. It features singles “God in Chains,” “Holy Bed,” “Revolution,” and “Bloom,” plus two new tracks. The project has earned praise from Clash Magazine, “recalling early AURORA, London Grammar, or Florence & The Machine at her spiritual best” and BBC Radio 1’s Jess Izzatt, who highlighted James’ “gorgeous vocals.”

Known for immersive, electro-acoustic trio performances, James has headlined The Folklore Rooms Brighton and Camden Chapel, showcased at Stereo Covent Garden and The Ned, performed for Sofar Sounds Newcastle, and appeared on the Global Youth Awards stage. In late autumn 2025, Becca embarked on a three date UK support tour ‘From Darkness to Light’ with soul artist Matreya (FKA Factor’s Mason Noise to the Green Note Camden, Boston Tea Party Birmingham and Hyde Park Book Club Leeds. Looking ahead, Becca will perform on the BBC Introducing Stage at Stockton Calling Festival this April.
