Arthur Valentine is the eclectic pop project of Cork based singer/songwriter and producer Luke Aston. Spanning from delicate, fragile folk to jazz and R&B inspired pop, Arthur explores universal themes of love, fear, faith and deleting/re-downloading Instagram time and time again.
Arthur Valentine showcases Aston's unique and honest approach to songwriting, ever-endeavouring to maintain a keen sensibility for melody and honest, poetic lyricism.
Arthur’s debut single Selfish was released earlier this year to much praise and success. In addition to receiving multiple plays on the country’s biggest radio stations and being added to a number of Spotify curated playlists, Selfish received positive reviews from Ireland’s biggest reviewers and blogs such as The Irish Times, Nialler9, REMY, GoldenPlec, Lovin.ie and Indie Buddie.
Having played a number of Cork venues prior to his debut release, Arthur Valentine is fresh off the back of headline slots at The Button Factory’s Crowbar and Bodytonic’s Pot Duggans in Ennistimon. Additionally, he is set to support Sorcha Richardson in Cyprus Avenue May 26.
With a number of shows on the horizon, including slots in the capital’s Whelan’s and Cork’s Coughlan’s, Arthur is quickly honing his intimate and endearing live set.
Arthur Valentine is set for a string of releases over the coming summer months.
