Aran Sheehy is an Irish electronic producer, live modular synth artist, and studio owner whose work bridges euphoric club energy with emotive, cinematic sound design. Known for his immersive and high-intensity live performances, Sheehy has built a reputation for delivering hardware driven sets that favour spontaneity and texture over pre-programmed precision.
In November 2025, he released his debut album Overseer, a ten track body of work charting a journey from organic, ambient-leaning compositions to experimental jungle and drum & bass. The record weaves together modular synthesis, hardware sequencing, and cultural fragments from the 1990s and 2000s, from degraded VHS textures to iconic gaming and sporting moments, exploring themes of nostalgia, memory, and digital decay. Overseer received favourable reviews from Hot Press, marking Aran as a compelling new voice within Ireland’s electronic landscape.
Distinct in his approach, Aran centres his practice around modular synthesis and outboard hardware, intentionally embracing the unpredictability and rawness associated with 90s-era electronic music acts like Aphex Twin and The Prodigy. Rather than relying solely on laptop production, his work captures the physicality and imperfection of analogue systems, resulting in music that feels immediate, tactile, and alive. Drawing sonic parallels to artists such as Bicep and Jon Hopkins, his sound balances emotional depth with club focused momentum.
Alongside his artistic output, Aran is the owner and operator of 'Weasel Studios' in Dublin 5, and has worked with a plethora of emerging Irish artists across many genres. This hands-on technical expertise informs both his studio releases and his evolving live show. Aran is also a qualified games composer.
With a growing profile and a debut album that firmly establishes his sonic identity, Aran Sheehy represents a forward thinking strand of Irish electronic music rooted in hardware craft, cultural memory, and powerful live performance.
