Amy McCarthy is a distinctive and evolving voice in Ireland’s contemporary music scene. Known for her commanding, expressive vocal and emotionally honest songwriting, Amy creates music rooted in live instrumentation, depth, and dynamic intensity—without confining herself to a single genre. Refusing to be placed in a creative box, her sound moves freely, shaped by feeling rather than formula.

Raised in a musical family on Ireland’s west coast, Amy developed an early love for performance through choirs, musical productions, and formal training in Music Performance, where she was awarded Student of the Year in 2011. From classical choral work to fronting rock bands, the stage has always been her natural home.

Over time, her sound has grown into something richer and more expansive—blending grit, soul, and emotional directness with a powerful vocal presence. Her songwriting explores self-reflection, inner conflict, and the strength found in vulnerability, with her music serving as a genuine connection to others through the shared experience of being human.

With four independent releases to date, Amy continues to establish herself as a rising independent Irish artist. Her latest single, “Rain,” showcases a full band sound with layered guitars, keys, drums, and a striking choir-led bridge, highlighting both her dynamic vocal range and growing confidence as a songwriter. On its release day, “Rain” was featured in Hot Press – New Irish Songs To Hear This Week, and has since received national radio play across stations including Galway Bay FM, Dundalk FM, Dublin South FM, and more.

Amy’s momentum continues to build, with upcoming highlights including being featured as Artist of the Week on Clare FM starting March 30th, a live appearance on “Sunday Night” with Keith McLoughlin on Dublin South FM on April 19th, and hosting her first originals headline show at Gort Town Hall Theatre on April 1st.

Performing regularly across Galway and the west of Ireland, Amy is steadily building a loyal audience and refining a live presence that is both powerful and deeply authentic. With each release and performance, she moves closer to defining a sound that is fearless, soulful, and unapologetically her own.
