This is the message Belfast singer-songwriter Alice Sloan delivers in her haunting debut Return The Ghost. Drawing the darkness from 90s grunge and the sweetness from modern alt-folk, she is carving out her own sound characterised by melodic chord progressions, unusual time signatures and soaring vocals.
