8-BIT Banjo was founded in 2015, merging styles such as acid folk, punk rock, R & B, synth, retrowave, post-punk, noise, industrial, soundtrack, dreamscape and many more!
8-BIT Banjo have been played on radio programs worldwide. They have been featured on soundtracks & scored multiple award-winning short films.
8-BIT Banjo has collaborated with artists ranging from David Liebe Hart (Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, Check It Out! with Dr. Steve Brule) to renowned Irish language singer Lasairfhíona.
In 2020, 8-BIT Banjo collaborated with Lasairfhíona on the Irish language synth pop song "Scáileán Leictreach" for Oíche Chultúir 2020. They collaborated again for Oíche Chultúir 2021 with "Óró 'S É Do Bheatha Abhaile".
In 2023, 8-BIT Banjo was featured on the sondtrack of Isleen Pines.
In 2024, 8-BIT Banjo released their punk E.P. Liberation. An accompanying music video for "Warrior" was released, which was written & directed by acclaimed Italian director Manolo Marceno, director of Photography by Harry Bo, which starred Aaran Donoghue, Sarah Fahy & Jacob Lawrence.
In 2025, 8-BIT Banjo celebrated their 10th anniversary with a performance featuring Lucas & Triz Nathaniel.
8-BIT Banjo is committed to the causes of decolonization & the rights of all sentient beings (animal & human).
8-BIT Banjo perform regularly for charity events, e.g. Animal Rights & Pro Palestine fundraisers.
