The Felonies

Bray, County Wicklow

Formed in 2015, The Felonies are a four-piece alt-punk outfit that have gone from strength to strength; defining themselves as one of Ireland’s most exciting emerging acts.
Following the release of their Debut EP “Impossible, Impractical” in 2015, the group gigged and wrote consistently throughout 2016, before being chosen for the Searchlight Development Deal in September and subsequently spending the next five months in live pre-production in The Button Factory while also recording two new singles in Temple Lane Studios.
In 2017, the band released three successful singles to much acclaim: “Repetition”, “Perfect Lie” and “Drunk (3AM)”, all of which garnered substantial radio play on RTÉ 2FM. 2017 also saw the band take their revamped, high-energy live sets to some of Ireland’s most infamous venues as part of their Debut Irish Tour, including a coveted set at Electric Picnic upon winning RTÉ 2FM’s Play the Picnic competition.
The Felonies started 2018 off with a bang, playing destructive sets at Whelan’s One’s to Watch festival where they cemented themselves as one of the most exciting live acts in Ireland. Followed by a headline set on Whelan's Main Stage as part of their St.Patrick's Day event, the band have drawn the attention of fans and industry taste-makers alike. With their latest single, 'Berlin Blues', receiving widespread radio play on BBC, RTÉ 2FM and 8Radio, as well as the reception of a 'New To' section in Hot Press, it's clear to see why everybody is talking about The Felonies.
The Felonies intend to maintain this high standard and spread their original sound and voice to the masses through both their hard-hitting recorded music and high-octane live sets.
They are not an act to be missed out on.

Critical Acclaim of The Felonies:

Pure M Magazine; “The Felonies are focused on perfecting their music, and it is truly paying off. They will get bigger and bigger and will be another great band coming from Ireland. And more heads will be turning in their direction”.; “’Impossible, Impractical is’ full of belting indie tunes and pulsing rock anthems…how finely can a band have curated their sound in such a short space of time? Well, The Felonies blow our pre-conceptions out of the water with their brilliant melding of indie rock and hard’s amazing to see such a young band have such finesse to their sound, it’s powerful and focused, and everything that music should be”.; “(Drunk (3AM)) romps thorough 4 minutes of everything an Indie anthem needs, sing along chorus, chugging rhythms and a thunderous bass sounding like a finely tuned Ducati. Drop outs, solos but above all quality song writing.”

Remy; "I'll get straight to the point here and say that it was right up there with one of the best live performances I've seen over the last 4 years by an Irish rock band, and probably the best one since the start of last year. There are more established bands that reside in the same genre as The Felonies who I love and have seen numerous times but on Thursday night, and on reflection yesterday and today I don't think I ever felt the same way after one of their shows."
