Formed in 2015, The Felonies are a vibrant four-piece alt-rock outfit that have gone from strength to strength; defining themselves as one of Ireland’s most exciting emerging acts through both their hard-hitting recorded music and high-octane live sets.
Following the release of their Debut EP “Impossible, Impractical” in 2015, the group gigged and wrote consistently through 2016, being chosen for the Searchlight Development Deal in September and subsequently spending the next five months in live pre-production in The Button Factory while also recording two new singles in Temple Lane Studios.
In 2017, the band released three successful singles to much acclaim: “Repetition”, “Perfect Lie” and “Drunk (3AM)”, all of which garnered substantial radio play on RTÉ 2FM. 2017 also saw the band take their revamped, high-energy live sets to some of Ireland’s most infamous venues as part of their Debut Irish Tour. Venues included Whelan’s Main Room, the Roisín Dubh, Fred Zeppelins, a headline slot at Park Fest and a coveted set at Electric Picnic after winning RTÉ 2FM’s Play the Picnic competition.
The Felonies finished 2017 with a blistering set at The Button Factory in conjunction with Garageland Ireland, before starting 2018 off with a bang, playing a destructive set at Whelan’s One’s to Watch which drew the attention of fans and industry eyes alike. The Felonies intend to maintain this high standard and spread their original sound and voice to the masses through gigs and recorded material. They are not an act to be missed out on.
Pure M Magazine; “The Felonies are focused on perfecting their music, and it is truly paying off. They will get bigger and bigger and will be another great band coming from Ireland. And more heads will be turning in their direction”.
DublinConcerts.ie; “’Impossible, Impractical is’ full of belting indie tunes and pulsing rock anthems…how finely can a band have curated their sound in such a short space of time? Well, The Felonies blow our pre-conceptions out of the water with their brilliant melding of indie rock and hard rock...it’s amazing to see such a young band have such finesse to their sound, it’s powerful and focused, and everything that music should be”.
Musician.ie; “The single is brimming with Brit Indie goodness, an addictive bass line and anecdotal lyric “Repetition” and proves why Felonies already have a loyal fan base and caught the ear of the music industry.”
Remy; "I'll get straight to the point here and say that it was right up there with one of the best live performances I've seen over the last 4 years by an Irish rock band, and probably the best one since the start of last year. There are more established bands that reside in the same genre as The Felonies who I love and have seen numerous times but on Thursday night, and on reflection yesterday and today I don't think I ever felt the same way after one of their shows."
