‘…Delivering soothing and dreamy alt-pop, they turned their setting temporarily into a David Lynch movie… singer Saramai Leech’s smoky voice coupled with the band’s floaty and delicate keyboard and guitar driven melodies created a dream-like feeling – beautiful but haunting – recalling Angelo Badalamenti’s work…’ – Hot Press Magazine #HWCH18 review

Pearly met in an old smoky bar in Navan Co. Meath, where the local scene crackled, melted and sparked and where they discovered their ethereal lush sound and songwriting style that would not be out of place in a David Lynch movie set in Glasgow in the late 80s.

The last 12 months has seen Pearly move to Berlin, play over 50 shows including the New Creatives showcase at the Irish Embassy in Berlin, Craw Festival, opening for Sacred Bones artist Hilary Woods, Half Waif, Lisa O'Neill, Conor O'Brien, Lisa Hannigan and being selected for the renowned Hard Working Class Heroes industry showcase in Dublin.

Their raw and intense HWCH performance led to them to acclaimed producer Julie McLarnon (Lankum/The Vaselines) with whom they have just finished recording their debut tracks to analogue tape, channeling their influences from My Bloody Valentine to the Cocteaus to Francois Hardy and Radiohead. Vocal harmonies, synths, detuned reverberant guitars abound in a vast yet minimal sound.

Fitting for their evocative tones they were invited to score the soundtrack for an RTE/Galway Film Board short film which they completed this February and which will see release and a run of festivals later this year. They also featured on John Barker's Totally Irish radio show in Berlin with an interview and live performance of their disarming song 'Conditions' alongside Nina Hynes, HAVVK, Christopher Colm Morrin, Tau, Steppenkind and more.
