Baile Formaid, County Dublin
Born in Dublin, MacUnfraidh started his musical life playing drums in a grunge band covering Nirvana and Smashing Pumkins songs, and fell off the drum stool during his first gig at the Temple Bar Music Centre in 2000.
After busking and playing in pubs in Australia for 3 years, he has made Dublin his home again in 2011 and has embarked on a solo career which has so far taken him to places such as Berlin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Munich.
His songs about love, life, the universe, clerical abuse and ice-cream have been described as “Weezer being gang-raped by the Manic Street Preachers while Damien Dempsey has a two-handed power-wank in the corner” by an Australia music magazine InPress.
He is halfway through recording his debut album, which has the working title Cool Pop, which is being produced in London by The Liberty Market.
