Gerry Tully-folksinger

Trim, County Meath

Gerry Tully is a native of Meath, Ireland, who felt the pull to music at the age of 6 when he received his first guitar.

Since then Gerry has carved himself a reputation as an outstanding performer, entertaining crowds with his own evocative style. Marrying an eclectic array of songs and genres, lairing each performance with a unique insight and understanding, Gerry is a truly magnificent interpreter of song, but when others words leave off – his own begins. Aided by a BA in Philosophy and English, Gerry’s songs are truly mesmerising, political and caring, thoughtful and haunting.

A natural, self-taught, musician with a vast repertoire that crosses many genres, Gerry is as comfortable with Classic Folk as with Bluegrass and Irish Ballads. He compels you to listen as if hearing well-known classics for the first time, drawing you into his world.

Gerry’s music has brought him around the world, touring in the UK, Europe, and America and with some of Ireland’s and the UK’s greatest artists, Ronnie Drew, Finbar Furey, Don Baker, Mary Coughlan to name a few. He has headlined the Leonard Cohen Festival in Dublin and was invited to tour with the renowned Wolfe Tones. But through this, all Gerry’s gigs continue to be engaging, honest and above all fun.
