Fallen Lights are a 4-piece Indie/Pop outfit based in Dublin Ireland. Together since early 2014 the band is made up of music graduates and final year music students. Musically speaking Fallen Lights are a blend of rich harmonies and catchy melodies with an underlying pop theme that would get even the most dedicated of rockers tapping their toes.
The bands live performance has been compared to ‘Two Door Cinema Club’ and ‘The Arctic Monkeys’ by RTE 2FM radio DJ Paddy McKenna:
“They're early Arctic Monkeys with a bit of Two Door too. Could've been baaad but it was very, very good.”
All of this combined makes this wiry 4 piece from Ireland an instant hit with any new crowd.
Since forming in early 2014 the band have enjoyed great success supporting some well established heavy hitters such as Scouting For Girls, Ham Sandwich, Paddy Casey, Raglans, KeyWest, The Academic and most recently The Blizzards on their comeback show in the Olympia Theatre .
The lads self-released their first EP June 2015, which they followed by with a tour across the country. With tracks from their debut EP receiving notable airplay for an unsigned independent act the future looks promising for this unique 4 piece. Fallen Lights debut EP is currently streaming on Spotify and is available for download on most digital platforms including iTunes, Google play and Deezer.
What does 2017 hold? The band are currently recording their latest musical project with Phil Magee in the Mill studios which is set to be a 5 Track EP. The first single is expected to be released early 2017 with the EP said to be following in September. With their second EP tipped to take radio listeners everywhere by storm it is no wonder Fallen Lights feel comfortable rubbing shoulders with the big hitters listed above. With a high intensity live performance equally complimented by a great ability to write singalong indie/pop music Fallen Lights are set to be the next household name in Irish music.
Fallen Lights are currently planning a tour running throughout May and June which will see the band perform in each of Ireland 32 counties within 32 consecutive days. The purpose of the tour is to raise awareness on mental health issues within the country and all the profits are to be donated to various mental health charities. Details for this tour can be found on the bands social media pages.
