Hailing from the darker edge of the folk spectrum, the tried and tested Singer Songwriter path has been given a breath of haunting melancholy with Ciara O’Neill’s debut EP ‘Primroses’.
Written throughout a few solitary months in the heart of the countryside, Ciara immersed herself in the sounds of the forests and rivers near her home and wrote ‘Primroses’ with each song paying testament to her raw talent.
Displaying both strength and fragility in her stunning live performances, this collection of songs showcases Ciara’s ‘plaintive, haunting vocals and watertight confidence’ also enhanced by her ‘Sultry Irish lilt’ and ‘complex and subtle playing’.
Ciara has just returned from a 3 month songwriting trip in Nashville where she wrote with some of the finest songwriters Music City has to offer, with a full length debut album ready for release, 2015 is shaping up to be an exciting time for this young artist.

“Displaying a watertight confidence, O’Neill shows no fears effortlessly picking her way through complex melody lines and riffs alongside her audacious falsetto”
