With one aim only, to become the greatest live band experience in Ireland, Arkipelagoes were formed in Spring 2020.
Rock by nature, indie by nurture.
Interrupted but undeterred by a cataclysmic pandemic, Arkipelagoes ploughed on through the lockdown period by building up a catalogue of nearly 100 songs between them. and once restrictions are lifted you will no doubt see them on the festival and live music scene all over the country and beyond.
With the release of two singles since January this year, they have gotten radio play both here and in the UK and have attracted listeners online from as far afield as New York City and Berlin.
They were chosen to be one of the acts at the Waterford Music Week Festival on WLR FM radio in March of this year which resulted in heavy daytime rotation of our song "Wild Roses" on WLR FM.
Formed nearly a year ago and based in the Comeragh Mountains in Co. Waterford they are made up of four friends, (Andy, Ger, Ken and Padraig).
They play a brand of melodic rock infused with hints of Arcade Fire, Villagers and The Flaming Lips amongst others.
There is a pinch of country music sprinkled over some of their songs too. This probably came about as many of their songs were written in an abandoned shepherds hut high in the hills, far away from the influence of any towns or cities.
