The Strutts.... Formed in 2004, have gone through a few line up changes over the years. Front man Liam Gardner is the only original member that featured on the 2005 demo recorded at Qube Studios above the Annesley House Pub, North Strand. That line up played all over Dublin in the usual haunts such as, Eamon Dorans, Crawdaddys, Whelans, Annesley House, Sugar Club, Voodoo Lounge etc. before calling it a day in 2006.
After gigging around Liverpool in 2007 for a couple of months and encouraged by the reaction to the songs over there, Gardner returned to Dublin to get a band together again. Straight on to Boards.ie to find some talent he thought! Amazingly a drummer replied straight away, Joey he called himself, king of the sticks & skins. Daragh was an old friend who had been in bands previously around Dublin, could sing and play guitar so he was in too. A few gigs ensued and Sean Whelan joined later on bass.
The lads play regularly on the Dublin circuit in such places as Captain Americas in Tallaght, Eamon Dorans, Pravda & Whelans. They are currently recording more of the ever growing catalogue of songs that the prolific Gardner is writing on a continual basis. The sounds created by this incarnation of The Strutts shows both an evolution in the songwriting style and the influence of the new members. It's these elements that have combined to create a more loose style of music while still retaining the Strutts' sound
