Some Kind of Abstraction

Pop // Dublin

In the beginning there was Idaho, four kids who won the Hot Press/Bacardi Unplugged Band of the Year in 2000 aged 18 (with one member using a faked ID card to be able to play in the Dublin heat).

A single was released, there were radio performances, a Late Late Show appearance, but there was never a plan.

While Idaho eventually dissolved, the songs written by Jack Hickey never did, nor did the resolve and the sound in his head of what those songs could be of Robert Holmes.

Thus, in May 2015, Some Kind of Abstraction was born, the name taken from a line in the opening monologue of the film version of American Psycho, while this biographer was comparing his own backside to that of Christian Bale's and calculating how much time he'd have to spend in the gym.
