CUISLE (sounds like cush-leh in English) means pulse or rhythm in Irish and that's what we try to bring to the streets, villages and towns of Ireland.

Formed originally in 2000 with a grant from Samhlaíocht Chiarraí and starter workshops with Simeon Smith, SambaCuisle has evolved and gone from strength to strength through further workshops with MaSamba (Dublin) and Dudu Tucci (Berlin). Having also been involved with percussionists such as Mamady Keita and Amara Kante, we have brought African influences into our music.

We've been bringing mainly Samba Reggae, Funk, Maracatu, Batucada and Afro-Cuban rhythms to Kerry and beyond for over the last ten years.

The group has featured at 'The Rose of Tralee Festival', 'Drogheda Samba Festival', 'Killarney Summerfest', 'Féile Na Bealtaine, An Daingin' and regularly at other local events throughout the Ireland.

The group has also performed at Berlin's "Karneval der Kulturen", with thanks to our friends in Drum Kitchen.

As the band is a community based group, we are proud to feature regularly in community events such as Kerry Bike Festival, Special Olympics, St. Brendans Day Celebration, Africa Day, Global Tralee Intercultural Celebration and various charity events, including KSPCA, Carers Association and the Open Arms Project.

We are always interested in getting involved with worthwhile community projects, at a local or national level.

Our aim is to bring "Brazilian Beats on Your Streets", enjoy ourselves and share that enjoyment with everyone else...
