Legion of Ape began in a damp squib...er, shed....in Dublin back in 2007 when brothers Brian and James Edwards decided to put their musical abilities to the test and wake the neighbours. In 2008, the Legion were joined on bass by Leigh Fitzpatrick, following the departure of original member, John Quinn. Well-known in the Dublin area after regular appearances in the darkest corners of the gig circuit, their highlight so far came with a slot at Glastonbury 2008 (Leftfield Stage). In November '09 Legion of Ape completed a sucessful mini-tour of England in support of the Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster. In December '09 LoA released their debut single 'Decelerator' to a great response. The band are currently demoing songs for their debut album due for release at the end of 2010.
