My name is Ciara although my stage name is Kyra. I grew up just outside Balyhaunis, Co.Mayo, going to school in Knock and then secondary school in Ballyhaunis. I spent most of my secondary level years playing guitar and singing, preparing myself for a life in music. In the summer of 2009 I joined a band called Spitfyre, only staying with them for five-six months, only playing at two gigs with them. I was the lead singer in that band and when I left I focused more on learning more songs for a solo career determined that I would make a career out of giging. In 2011 I turned 18 and played my first proper solo gig at my birthday, making sure that I had drank enough to not be nervous ( And I will not be doing that again! ). A week later I was in Dublin playing a gig in a pub there (I can't remember the name but I'll let ye know if I do remember :P ) It was a good gig, played with my brother's band Ka Tet. I met a few important people there, one of which was trying to get me to enter for the Arthurs day gig that was in Dublin because she was one of the organisers. I didn't take her up on the offer. In early September i had another gig ( Which was the last one that I have had lately) for my fathers birthday in Castlebar and it was without a doubt by far the best gig played by myself and The Walter Whites. That's my life so far. Well an outline of my musical life anyway. I write some of my own music but don't play them that often so I mostly play covers :)
