Biography
The last 24 months have seen John Kelly support The Unabombers, The Subs, Gilles Peterson and Calvin Harris. His ability to tailor a set saw him finish on the Majorca/Ibizia Rocks Resident shortlist in April 2012 http://www.ibizarocks.com/djcompetition. Quite the “hands on” DJ , John is very at ease in a DJ box or on a stage and will happily use records, CDs or digital formats - a qualified sound and broadcast engineer he tailors his hardware requirements to suit any venue or sound technician.
John has never seen genres as boundaries for his sets, djing by the motto “I don’t listen to one genre, nobody does, so why play only one genre” his sets includes nu disco, deep and minimal house, breaks, elements of soul, and of course indie. He still prefers to get a vibe from a crowd than go into a venue with a specific inflexible set.
