Aoife DeMille

Aoife DeMille is singer-songwriter from Co.Kerry. Her music explores rich and emotive imagery through folk infused, electro-acoustic sound design, reminiscing her childhood in Kerry whilst also observing her life now in Dublin. Working as a sound designer for multimedia installation and live electronic performance, Aoife fuses styles of ambient electronics, alt-folk singer-songwriting, and contemporary composition to form her distinctive sound.

Aoife's performance accolades include performing as part of Draoi ensemble at Body&Soul festival and Electric Picnic in 2019, Light Moves Festival in Limerick in 2021, Still Space in Unit 44 in 2022, as part of the Fringe Festival in 2022, and as a support act for More Ease and Seth Graham in 2022,support for The Slow Show in 2023, support for Adrian Crowley in 2023, as part of the Sinéad O'Connor tribute in the Pavillion, and as support for Allegra Krieger in 2024.

Aoife's work explores themes of childhood, rural upbringing and culture, Irish landscape and nature, and loss and longing. Laced with emotion and personal insight, her music hopes to evoke similar responses from her listeners.

Aoife is set to release her debut EP Morning Fires in Autumn 2024. Weaving colloquial lyrical motifs with expansive vocal harmonies and a full band accompaniment, Aoife will showcase her unique and evocative musical style with this release.

Overall, her music acts as facilitator for emotional introspection—sound and visual journeys that delicately suggest but never instruct, her music invites her audiences to become co-creators in the experience.
